The Best Beaches in Greece

Greece isn’t just somewhere you visit, it’s somewhere you feel. The moment you touch down, you’re hit with that mix of sea air, sunscreen and the faint scent of yesterday’s hangover still clinging to someone’s straw hat. It’s pure magic.

This country is built for beach days that roll into beach nights. Crystal-clear water. Music spilling from bars. Ice-cold drinks that somehow vanish faster than your common sense. Whether you’re dancing in Mykonos, floating off Malia or plotting chaos at a Kavos boat party, Greece has a stretch of sand with your name on it.

Some beaches are wild. Some are peaceful. Some are so pretty you’ll forget to check your notifications (miracles do happen).

Here are 10 of the best beaches in Greece. So if your holiday hotspot is close to one these beauties do yourself a favour and check it out!

1. Paradise Beach (Mykonos)

Welcome to the chaos. Paradise Beach isn’t named for peace and quiet. It’s paradise for the sleep-deprived, sun-kissed and slightly tipsy. Between Tropicana Beach Club and Cavo Paradiso, you’ll find half of Europe dancing in the sand by 3 p.m. and still going strong at sunrise. The water’s turquoise, the champagne’s flowing and the vibe is “let’s make bad decisions look glamorous.” It’s where beach days blur into boat parties and stories you’ll never tell back home.

2. Paliouri Beach (Halkidiki)

This one’s a bit of a secret weapon. Hidden in Halkidiki’s pine-fringed peninsula, Paliouri Beach delivers laid-back luxury without the Mykonos price tag. Picture golden sand, crystal-clear water and chilled beats floating from Cabana Beach Bar. It’s the kind of place where cocktails taste better because you didn’t have to queue behind influencers for them. Perfect for a sun-soaked afternoon that turns into sunset drinks and a slightly wobbly walk home. Calm, classy and a welcome detox from the madness elsewhere. Until the first round of mojitos hits, anyway.

3. Malia Beach (Crete)

Jumping in the sea

Ah, Malia. Where sleep goes to die and your liver comes to live its best life. Malia Beach is pure holiday carnage in the best way possible. Bars line the sand, DJs spin from breakfast time, and no one’s judging your 11 a.m. beer. Expect volleyball tournaments that turn into shot rounds and strangers who become lifelong mates (or brief mistakes). When the hangover hits, sneak off to neighbouring Potamos Beach to recover, or better yet, shake it off on the Malia Booze Cruise and pretend hydration means vodka soda.

4. Navagio (Shipwreck) Beach (Zakynthos)

The beach so famous it might as well be Greece’s national screensaver. Navagio Beach sits between sheer cliffs, with sand so white it practically glows and a rusting shipwreck that makes every photo look like a travel ad. You can only reach it by boat, which adds to the drama, and yes, the Zante Boat Party passes nearby, so you can admire paradise with a drink in hand. Just don’t drop your phone trying to get the perfect aerial shot.

5. Elafonissi Beach (Crete)

If Barbie built a beach, this would be it. Elafonissi is famous for its soft pink sand and shallow turquoise lagoons that shimmer like rosé in the sun. It’s calm, quiet and utterly blissful. A solid 10/10 spot to nurse the aftermath of wild night out. The kind of place where you float, nap and whisper, “I’m never drinking again,” before doing exactly that later. Bring sunglasses, water and your best hangover excuse.

6. Sarakiniko Beach (Milos)

Forget sand, Sarakiniko looks like someone dropped the moon in the middle of the Aegean. White volcanic rock stretches into neon-blue water, and the whole place glows like a film set. It’s perfect for cliff jumps, tanning and pretending you’re in a slow-motion music video. There’s no shade, no bar and no bad angles. Come early, bring cold drinks and prepare to question every life choice that doesn’t involve moving here permanently.

7. Porto Katsiki (Lefkada)

This one’s a show-off. And it knows it. Porto Katsiki sits at the bottom of towering limestone cliffs, with steps that test your calves but reward you with water so blue it looks Photoshopped. It’s peaceful, dramatic and just far enough off the beaten track to make you feel smug for finding it. Bring snacks, swim gear and a mate willing to carry the cooler back up the stairs. It’s a proper “you had to be there” kind of beach, minus the crowds, if you time it right.

8. Myrtos Beach (Kefalonia)

Myrtos Beach is what you get when Greece decides to flex. A giant crescent of white pebbles meets a sea so bright it could power the national grid. No clubs, no chaos, just jaw-dropping scenery and the occasional boat bobbing by. It’s perfect for floating, napping and pretending you’re in Mamma Mia. Bring some refreshments, a good playlist and your inner peace.

9. Faliraki Beach (Rhodes)

Sun, sea and a nightlife strip that doesn’t know when to quit. Faliraki Beach is Rhodes’ answer to “how much fun can we legally have?” Expect jet skis, cocktails and questionable karaoke by night. You can lounge all day and rage all evening without ever leaving the sand. It’s the kind of beach where you wake up with new friends, a new tan line and no clue where your flip-flops went.

10. Voidokilia Beach (Peloponnese, Mainland)

Voidokilia looks like a painting, a perfect horseshoe of white sand and calm, glassy water that feels like a private lagoon. It’s quieter than the party islands, but no less stunning. Swim, sunbathe and take in the view without a DJ in sight. It’s a proper “main character moment” kind of place. The pause between the parties, where you remember why you came to Greece in the first place. And yeah, it’s worth every twist of the road to get there.

Pick Your Paradise

So there you have it, ten Greek beaches that prove heaven isn’t up in the clouds, it’s somewhere between your sunbed and your next Aperol. Whether you’re dancing till dawn in Mykonos, floating your hangover away in Crete, or finding your zen on the mainland, Greece has a beach with your name on it.

From pink sands to all-night parties, this country doesn’t do boring. The sea’s bluer, the people friendlier, and the music louder than anywhere else on earth.
