Stag dos are weird little holidays, aren’t they?
You’re on a mission to send one poor lad into married life with sore abs (from laughing) and some serious questions about what happened in that karaoke bar at 4am.
Of course, you can wing it, start drinking and see what happens. But if you want to take it up a notch and make some memories on the way, put some games into the mix.
Pre-Drinks Games
You’ve just landed. Everyone’s dropped their bags, cracked open a warm can, and the hotel floor’s already a mess of passports, swim shorts and someone’s missing sock. Perfect time for some icebreakers. Pre-drinks games are about warming up, bonding and low-level chaos before the night kicks off.
1. Ring of Fire
The classic. Get a deck of cards. Spread them out around a pint glass. Each card = a rule. You know the drill:
- 2 = you
- 3 = me
- 4 = floor
- King = pour
Make it your own. Add custom rules. “No one can say the stag’s name” is always a winner. Or loser, depending how sharp you are.
2. Mr & Mrs (Stag Edition)
You’ve prepped some questions with the bride. Now it’s time to stitch up the stag.
- Who takes longer to get ready?
- Who made the first move?
- Who’s the better lover?
Every wrong answer = a shot. Or a forfeit. Or a dance to a painfully slow romantic ballad in the middle of the hotel lobby.
3. Task Cards
Before the trip, each lad writes down a ridiculous challenge on a bit of card.
- Serenade a stranger
- Speak only in rhymes for 10 minutes
- Do the worm on command
Draw one at random during pre-drinks. Refuse? That’s a round for everyone else. Brutal.
4. The Name Game
Say a celeb’s name. Next person says one where the first name starts with the last letter of the previous surname. Hesitate? Drink. Gets stupid very fast. Especially after two tequilas.
These games set the tone. Light-hearted nonsense before the real madness begins. And they work just as well poolside, on a balcony or in a pub.
Active / Outdoor Games
Right, enough sitting around. Time to get outside, make a scene, and ensure your group becomes those lads everyone talks about (and maybe avoids) for the rest of the trip.
5. Human Buckaroo
The stag lies down. One by one, the group balances random items on him — flip-flops, beer cans, pineapples, someone’s passport (bold move). Last person to stack something before he flinches or reacts wins. Bonus: if he moves? He drinks. Obviously.
6. The Peg Game
Each lad gets 5 clothes pegs. Throughout the day, the goal is to clip them on other people without being caught. If someone notices, you take yours back. Whoever has the most pegs at the end of the night? Forfeit.
7. Stag Hunt
Think scavenger hunt, but unhinged. Write a list of challenges:
- Get a stranger to buy you a drink
- Dance with someone over 60
- Swap shirts with a tourist
Each completed task = a point. Winner gets a reward. Loser has to order a drink in the worst accent possible at the bar.
8. Inflatable Gladiator
Two inflatables. Two lads. One pool noodle each. Last man floating wins. Cue slow-motion hits, dramatic falls, and at least one pair of sunglasses lost to the sea forever.
These games aren’t about skill. They’re about spectacle. And if you can make the stag belly-flop in front of a crowd in Ibiza? Even better.
Games for Boat Parties
You’ve made it. The sun’s out, tunes are thumping, someone’s already dropped their sunglasses overboard and it’s not even noon. Whether your on an Ibiza boat party or a booze cruise in Malia, now’s the time to level up with a few boat party bangers.
These games are built for limited space, questionable balance, and maximum mayhem.
9. Dare Dice
Bring a big foam die (or make one from card before the party). Assign each number a dare:
1 = swap clothes with a stranger
2 = do a 10-second dance solo
3 = get someone not in your group to join in
4 = speak in pirate voice for the next 5 minutes
5 = attempt the worm (yes, on a boat)
6 = everyone else drinks
Stag rolls first. Obviously.
10. Boat Party Bingo
Pre-make some ridiculous bingo cards before you go.
Stuff like:
- Someone drops their drink
- A guy tries to chat up the DJ
- Someone loses a flip-flop
- “Wonderwall” gets played (again)
First to complete a row? Give ‘em a prize, they deserve it!
11. Dare Cards
Easy. Cheap. Hilarious.
Write out 20+ dares on paper before the party. Put them in a hat or bag. Every 15 minutes, someone draws one. “Do a dance-off with a stranger.” “Start a conga line.” “Shout ‘I’m the king of the world!’ from the front of the boat.” You get the idea.
12. Dance Battles
Pick two people. Give them 30 seconds. One song. Crowd votes.
Winners keep their dignity. Losers? Well. They don’t. But they’re legends anyway.
13. The Name Game
Someone starts: “I’m going to Ibiza and I’m bringing… a banana.” Next person repeats it and adds their own. Mess up? You drink.
It’s dumb. But you’ll be amazed how quickly people get competitive.
Hangover-Friendly / Chill Games
Let’s be honest. Not every part of a stag do is about going full tilt. At some point, someone’s going to wake up wrapped in a towel, sunglasses still on, whispering the sacred words: “Let’s just chill today, yeah?”
These games are for that moment. Minimal movement. Maximum laughs. No risk of vomiting on a sun lounger.
14. Who’s Most Likely To…
You know this one. Someone reads out a scenario:
- Who’s most likely to cry in a club?
- Who’s ending up in a stranger’s hotel room?
- Who’s going to forget their flight home?
Everyone points. No justifications. No mercy.
The one with the most fingers? Forfeit. Or just accept the title with pride.
15. The Compliment Game
Yeah, you read that right.
Take turns giving genuine compliments to each other. First one to laugh, deflect, or say something self-deprecating? Has to down their drink.
It’s awkward. It’s wholesome. And weirdly hilarious when half the group can’t handle sincerity.
16. Sunbed Quizmaster
One person becomes the Quizmaster. Everyone else stays horizontal. Pick any theme. 90s football, terrible British TV, beer brands, whatever.
Wrong answers = drink. Right answers = nominate someone else to drink.
These are perfect for pool days, beach recoveries, or that bit before your next boat party when you’re pretending you’re “taking it easy”.
Wrap-up
Right, you’ve got the games. Ready to party. Come prepared. Come ready. Because let’s face it. The best memories aren’t always the wildest ones. Sometimes, they’re just the stupidest.
Now go forth. Be ridiculous. And send the stag off in style.
